- His own brothers did not believe in him and mocked him (John 7:1-9)
- He was judged by his appearance (John 7:24)
- He did not wear soft/fine/rich-man clothes (Matthew 11:8)
- He was known as a prophet (Matthew 11:9; Luke 1:76-79)
- He did not keep all the Pharisees' laws (Matthew 12:1-2)

What makes him special

- He is the Father's Son
- He had a special purpose

- The Father personally and publicly declared his love to him as His "beloved Son" (Matthew 3:17; 17:5; Mark 9:7)
- He will return with his Father to judge the world (Matthew 16:27-28; Revelation 19:11-16, 22:1-5)
- He is glorified by God (John 8:55, 13:32, 17:1, 17:5)
- He was raised from the dead by God (Acts 2:24,32; 17:30-31; 1 Corinthians 15:15)
- He is still actively involved in his "body" of disciples (e.g. interfered with Saul's prosecution Acts 9:1-6)
- He committed no sin (1 Peter 2:22; Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 3:5)
- He is our advocate with the Father to the forgiveness of sin (1 John 2:1)
What Jesus did
- Raise people from the dead (John 5:21)
- Taught Paul personally (Galatians 1:11-23)
- He sacrificed himself (Ephesians 5:2)
- Freed believers from their sin by his blood (Revelation 1:5)
- Established a kingdom (Revelation 1:6)
- Made believers priests to his God and Father (Revelation 1:6)
Why Jesus served
- He was obeying God (John 4:34, 5:19, 6:38, 8:55, 10:37, 14:31; Acts 3:13; 1 John 4:14)
- He loved us (John 13:34-35, 15:9; Ephesians 5:2)
